Northern Plains Power Technologies (NPPT) is a power engineering consulting firm based in Brookings, SD USA and founded in 2005 by Dr. Michael Ropp, a Georgia Tech Ph.D graduate in EE and a licensed PE.  We specialize in two areas:  engineering for distributed generation plants and interconnects (including energy storage), and engineering for low-inertia power systems, such as microgrids, remote villages, island power, campus power, or other off-grid power systems.
